Shadow Lakes is an established golf-course neighborhood on the west side of Brentwood, CA 94513, built around the Shadow Lakes golf course. The Shadow Lakes Homeowners Association describes the community as almost 800 homes with views of Mount Diablo, run by a volunteer board.

The golf course: After closing in 2016, the course reopened in stages, and Contra Costa News reported the full 18 holes reopening on October 17, 2023, under operator JC Golf. The property also has a driving range and a lodge event center. The club is run separately from the homeowners association, and golf operations in this part of the county have changed hands before, so call the club directly before relying on membership terms or tee times.

Homes in Shadow Lakes: The seven homes listed here in late September 2026 were built between 1999 and 2003 and ranged from about 2,000 to 3,800 square feet, with both one-story and two-story plans and some private pools. For current pricing on a specific street or floor plan, ask for a search of recent sales.

What to check before you buy: Read the HOA documents the seller must provide under Civil Code section 4525, and ask which assessment district the home sits in and what it funds. Do not assume the amenity package matches the marketing.

Schools: Most Brentwood addresses are served by the Brentwood Union School District for grades K-8 and the Liberty Union High School District for grades 9-12. Assignments are address-specific and can change, so confirm the current school for any home with the district.
